Scheduling equipment
The Scheduling tab shows every unit on a timeline, grouped by type, with bookings coloured by project. See at a glance what is booked, what is free and how many units are out today.
Booking equipment
Click Book equipment or click on the timeline to open the booking card.
| Field | Description |
| Equipment | The unit to book. |
| Dates | The first and last day of the booking. Bookings are whole days. |
| Mission | The project the equipment is booked for. Optional, but needed to track usage against a project. |
| Label and Notes | Anything the team needs to know about the booking. |
Click Book to save. Open a booking to change it or click Remove booking.
No double bookings
A unit can only be in one place at a time, so overlapping bookings are refused and missionX tells you which project already has the unit.
If a unit has a setup buffer, missionX warns you when back-to-back bookings leave no time for it.
Some units can't be booked:
- Archived units, units that aren't schedulable and units that are Out of Service, Retired or Lost are hidden from scheduling.
- Units with an open high-severity or out-of-service maintenance request are blocked.
- With calibration and service blocking on, units that are overdue for calibration or service are blocked until they are up to date.
- Restricted units can only be booked by the people and roles listed on the unit.
Booking approvals
Check Bookings need approval on a unit's card and choose an approver. New bookings for that unit are sent for approval and show as Pending on the timeline until they are decided.
Approvers see their bookings under Waiting for your approval. Click Decide to approve or reject. A comment is required to reject.
Bright idea: On the Scale plan you can add approval rules by equipment type or booking value, with several approvers in order.
Heads up: Booking approvals need the Core or Scale plan.
