Creating dashboards
A dashboard is a page of charts, tables, numbers and notes that you arrange on a grid. Your dashboards are your own - nobody else in the organization sees them.
Creating a dashboard
Open the Power AI tab. The first time, click New dashboard. After that, click the + New dashboard tile at the top of the Dashboards drawer on the left.
The new dashboard opens in edit mode and mAX opens beside it, ready to build. Tell mAX what you want to see, for example "Hours by project this month and billable % by week", or close mAX and drag charts in yourself. See building with mAX.
To name it, click the title at the top while editing, type and press Enter.
From a template
Open the chart palette on the right and scroll to Templates. Clicking a template creates a new dashboard of your own from it, which counts towards your dashboard limit. The Horizon EU Grants template is available today.
Bright idea: On Power AI Free you have one dashboard. The + New dashboard tile stays clickable at the limit and tells you why it can't create another.
The Dashboards drawer
The drawer on the left lists your dashboards as tiles. Click one to open it. Each tile shows a snapshot of the dashboard, taken shortly after you change it. Hide or show the drawer with the sidebar icon at the top left - missionX remembers your choice.
When you come back to Power AI, the dashboard you last worked on opens. A link to a dashboard opens that dashboard directly.
Edit and view mode
The gear menu at the top right holds the dashboard options. Use Edit dashboard and Done editing to switch modes. missionX remembers the mode for each dashboard.
| Mode | What you can do |
| Edit | Rename the dashboard, add charts from the palette, move cards by their handle, resize them from the right and bottom edges, rename them, edit them by hand and remove them. |
| View | Read the dashboard. Nothing moves, so you can't change the layout by accident. |
Every change saves on its own - there is no save button.
Deleting a dashboard
Open the gear menu and choose Delete dashboard, then confirm.
Heads up: Deleting a dashboard also deletes its charts and any email schedules for it. This can't be undone.
