Building with mAX
mAX, the missionX AI assistant, builds and changes your dashboard in plain language. It knows your projects, clients, people, departments and leave types by name, so you can say "hours for the Atlas project by person, last quarter" and it finds the right data.
Asking mAX
There are three ways in:
- A new dashboard opens mAX straight away, ready to build it.
- Build it with mAX on an empty dashboard, or Build with mAX on a blank chart.
- The mAX icon on any card asks mAX to change that chart. Another period, grouping, metric, filter or chart type - say it and mAX does it.
| mAX can | Examples |
| Add charts | "Build me a utilization dashboard", "add leave by type this year" |
| Change charts | "make it a line chart", "only billable hours", "exclude the Design department" |
| Remove charts | "remove the pie chart" - mAX always asks you to confirm first. |
| Rename the dashboard | "call this Monthly delivery review" |
If a name matches more than one thing, mAX asks which one you mean.
Live preview
While mAX is open, every chart it adds or changes appears large to the left of the chat, so you see each change as it lands without closing mAX. When mAX works on several charts, each one gets a pill at the top of the preview - click one to switch.
- Show on dashboard closes mAX and takes you to the chart on the dashboard.
- The close icon hides the preview until mAX changes another chart.
Bright idea: The preview needs room beside the chat. On a small screen, or with the mAX chats list open, it may not show - close the chats list to make space.
Credits
Building and changing charts with mAX uses your mAX AI credits. Your Power AI plan includes a monthly allowance of AI generations, used before any credits you bought. See AI credits.
Heads up: mAX can't create, delete or switch dashboards, export or schedule emails - use the dashboard's own controls for those. On Power AI Free, mAX adds charts up to your plan's chart limit and tells you which ones it skipped.
