Financial reports
Three views of the same money, from the plan down to the single transaction. All three are in the Financials tab of the Organization workspace.
Quarterly report
The business view of every project: planned and actual revenue, cost and margin by quarter, utilization of your people, and forecasts for the months ahead. It reads straight from project budgets, timesheets and invoices, so there is nothing to enter.
Use it to answer "are we on plan?". Use the P&L to answer "what did we book?".
P&L
The organization's profit and loss by month: revenue, cost of sales, gross profit, operating costs and operating profit. Lines follow your chart of accounts. Money that isn't coded yet shows under its kind, such as labour, expenses or vendor costs.
- Revenue counts when a client invoice is sent.
- Costs count when time, expenses and vendor invoices are approved. Time is costed at each person's cost rate.
- Amounts are net of tax, in your organization's currency.
Pick a period from this month to last year, narrow it to a project or a client, and export it to Excel. Click any amount to open the transactions behind it.
Transactions
Every money event on the ledger, newest first: approved time, approved expenses and vendor invoices, and sent client invoices. The P&L is these rows added up.
| You can | How it helps |
| Search and filter | By invoice number, PO, description, date range, project, client, vendor, person, account or cost center. Totals follow your filters. |
| Group | Total by project, client, vendor, person, account, cost center, type or month, then drill in. This is your cost report. |
| Open items | See what is still owed, to you and by you. |
| Open the source | Any row shows the invoice PDF, the receipts, the timesheet week or the export batch it was posted in. |
| Create | Use New to add a client invoice, purchase order or vendor invoice without leaving Financials. |
Bright idea: If a number on the P&L looks wrong, click it. The transactions underneath usually show the cause in seconds, whether it's a missing account code, a late approval or an invoice in the wrong month.
