Charts and data

Add ready-made charts from the palette, start from a blank chart and let mAX fill it in, or set a chart up by hand.

The chart palette

Click the charts icon at the top right to open the palette (this also turns on edit mode). Drag a chart onto the dashboard where you want it, or click it to add it at the end. Hover over a chart to see what it shows.

GroupCharts
Blank chartsArea chart, Pie chart, Bar chart, Line chart, Number, Table and Text
TimeHours this month, Billable %, Hours by week, Hours by project, Hours by client, Hours by person, Hours by department and the Horizon EU timesheet
ProjectsActive projects, Hours used % by project, Budget used % by project and Project health
FinancialsRevenue vs cost by month, Margin by month, Revenue by client, Estimated vs actual cost and Revenue year to date
LeavesLeave days this month, People on leave by week, Leave by type and Leave by person

Charts that show cost or revenue only appear for organization admins and managers.

Working with cards

  • Move a card by dragging its handle and resize it from its right edge, bottom edge or corner.
  • Rename a chart by clicking its title. You can also add a short note under the title.
  • Blank charts land empty with a Build with mAX button. Tell mAX what the chart should show, or set it up by hand.
  • Text blocks hold headings and notes. They are free and never count towards your plan's chart limit.
  • Remove a card with its trash icon.

Editing a chart by hand

Click Edit by hand on a card to open the chart editor, with a live preview as you change it:

Data sources

SourceWhat it measures
TimesheetsHours, billable and non-billable hours, billable %, cost, revenue, margin and head counts. Counts submitted and approved timesheets unless you pick otherwise.
LeavesLeave days and hours and people on leave, by type, person, department, paid or unpaid. Counts approved leave unless you pick otherwise.
FinancialsEstimated and actual cost, revenue, margin and hours by month, project or client.
ProjectsBudget, cost, revenue, hours, budget used %, hours used % and time elapsed % over each project's life.

Who sees what

Power AI follows the same access rules as the rest of missionX, so the same chart can show different numbers to different people:

  • Cost, revenue, margin and budgets are visible to organization admins and managers only.
  • Members see the projects they are on. Admins, managers and observers see every project they have access to.
  • You see other people's hours and leave only where your role allows it. Otherwise you see your own.

Bright idea: On Power AI Free, charts cover the last and next 6 months by month. Core and Scale take any date range, down to the day.
